The other side of the monitor

While playing Americas Army, or any other online game, among the flashing pixels and cacophony of sound, it is easy to forget that there is a real living breathing person, on the other side of the monitor.
In the world of Americas Army one of those living breathing persons was Tristan Lohse. Since the day Americas Army was released, Tristan was its number one fan. Tristan was a talented, a good sport and a true team player. But that was not what made him a special person. What made Tristan special was that he was able to maintain a positive, friendly attitude while suffering from cancer. His attitude and courage in the face of this terrible disease truly made him a man beyond his years.
Tristan died at age 8 from cancer this Monday morning. While I did not know him personally I followed his battle. the greatest battle continually on the various forums that support Americas Army. He was an inspiration to me and to many others.
He will be laid to rest today in his hometown in Ohio. So please take a moment today to think about Americas Armys number one fan and while youre at it the next time you are fraging think about the person on the other side of the monitor. I think Tristan would like that.
